
The 2026 Dr. William Montague Cobb Award nomination portal is now open. This award honors individuals and organizations that have made a significant impact in the field of health, honoring the extraordinary social justice advocacy and legacy of Dr. William Montague Cobb, who served as President of the NAACP from 1976 to 1983.
This award is presented annually to a national figure, a state health committee chair, and/or a local individual or unit to recognize special achievements in health and social justice advocacy, health education and promotion, and/or health fundraising and research.
Submit your nominations by Friday, May 1, 2026, 11:59 PM ET to recognize the contributions of trailblazers working toward health equity for Black communities across the nation.
Also now open is the 2026 Benjamin L. Hooks “Keeper of the Flame” Award. The Keeper of the Flame Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional service in advancing the objectives of the NAACP and the labor movement.
Submit your nominations by Thursday, April 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET to recognize leaders advancing racial equity efforts in the labor movement.
